Rock out at Lazerfest
April 2, 2010It’s almost that time of year again! KAZR Lazer 103.3 Everything That Rocks are returning this May at the Indianola Balloon Grounds to put their annual Lazerfest which is an all day festival that take place usually on Sundays in May once a year featuring tons of bands who play hard rock, metal, punk and basically anything that rocks!
Bands who have performed there in the past include Stone Temple Pilots, Bullet For My Valentine, Staind, Stone Sour, Hinder, Rob Zombie and these are few names that have played the festival.
Lazer claims that this year they’re gonna have their biggest line up of all time with two main stages! The bands that have been announced so far (yes there is more to come) would include Godsmack, Three Days Grace, HELLYEAH, Rob Zombie, Seether, Five Finger Death Punch, Skillet, and recently added Papa Roach who joined the card when Des Moines band featuring Slipknot members Corey Taylor and James Root, Stone Sour were forced to pull out because they’ll still be recording their new album even though they entered the studio in January. I like Papa Roach and all but I love Stone Sour so I’m pretty bummed about that and I wanted to see them play live ever since I was 8 years old due to the fact my cousin, Joel Ekman, was a co-founding member and the former drummer. He appears on Stone Sour’s self titled debut which was released in 2002 with the hit single “Bother”.
As I said before, there are going to be a lot more bands added to Lazerfest. Some of the bands I would love to see play would be Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate, Mudvayne, Alice In Chains and Shadows Fall. The event takes place on May 16 and tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, March 5th at 10 AM for $35. But do make sure you get them before Saturday, April 5th when the prices increase!
